Morocco Set To Increase Industry’s Share In GDP

Morocco endeavours to increase the share of industry in its GDP through the Industrial Acceleration Plan, Minister Delegate in charge of Small Enterprises and the Integration of the Informal Sector Mamoune Bouhdoud said, on Monday in Paris.

The Plan aims to bolster Morocco’s emerging economy by rising the share of industry in the GDP from 14% to 23%, said the Minister at a meeting on the challenges facing enterprises in the Kingdom held by the Association for Moroccan Entrepreneurs.

In this respect, Bouhdoud stressed the need for restructuring the economic fabric through establishing ecosystems which, he said, will help enable the absorption of the informal sector.

He said his department is woring on the implementation of the auto-entrepreneur status to promote youth entrepreneurship.

The meeting was also an occasion to highlight the investment opportunities offered by Morocco given its political stability, macroeconomic environment, strategic location and quality infrastructure.
