Niger's President Grants Audience to Interior Minister

Interior Minister Mohamed Hassad was granted an audience by president of the Republic of Niger, H.E. Mahamadou Issoufou, on the sidelines of the 11th meeting of interior ministers of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD), which is scheduled in Niamey on Jan. 18-19, said on Wednesday the interior ministry.

During this audience, the interior minister conveyed to His Excellency the president of the Republic of Niger the brotherly greetings of HM King Mohammed VI as well as the royal will to further strengthen and promote the excellent relations between the two countries at all levels, said the ministry in a statement.

Morocco Takes Part in 11th CEN-SAD Interior Ministers Meeting in Niamey

Moroccan Interior minister, Mohamed Hassad, took part in the 11th meeting of the Interior ministers of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD), Which is being held in Niamey on January 18-19.

During the meeting, the Moroccan official highlighted the African vision of HM the King, based on the deep conviction that this great continent has human potential and economic opportunities that could make it a haven of peace and prosperity.

Hassad said that Morocco is implementing a national migratory strategy respectful of human rights, adding that this strategy places migrants and refugees at the center of a comprehensive system of integration to enable them, like Moroccan citizens, to have access to the labor market, housing, education and health services.

In this context, he expressed the full willingness of the Kingdom to share with its partners its expertise in the field of managing migration flows.

It is worth to mention that participants in the meeting welcomed the relevance of the national immigration and asylum strategy.

The Interior minister also stressed that the universality of the terrorist threat requires further consultations and joint actions.

In this regard, he recalled Morocco's enormous efforts in fighting this scourge, which led to the dismantling of several terrorist cells.
