Pact for Impact Summit: Morocco Announces Launch of African Ministers Network of Social and Solidarity Economy
Morocco has announced the organization in 2020 of the first African Forum on the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE), which will officially launch the network of African ministers of Social and Solidarity Economy. The announcement was made by secretary of State for Handicrafts and Solidarity Economy, Jamila Elmoussali, at the closing ceremony, Thursday in Paris, of the first Pact for Impact Summit, marked by the launch on the same day of a new Global Alliance for the development of Social and Solidarity Economy.
"We have the great pleasure and privilege of announcing the organization in Morocco in 2020 of the first African Forum on Social and Solidarity Economy, which will be marked by the official launch of the African ministers network of Social and Solidarity Economy," she told government delegations from some fifty countries that took part in the Summit. "Morocco is willing to put its regional and international contact network, as well as its experience and proven expertise, to good use in the service of this African network," she said. Elmoussali also stressed the need to unify visions and guidelines for the establishment of an African Agenda for the Social and Solidarity Economy, focusing on concrete proposals that could engage all actors for the promotion of the social economy.
