Riyadh: FM Holds Several Talks on sidelines of Preparatory Meetings for 29th Arab Summit
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita held a series of talks with his Arab counterparts, Thursday in Riyadh, on the sidelines of the preparatory meetings for the 29th Arab Summit, scheduled for Sunday in Dhahran.
Bourita met with Jordanian minister of Foreign Affairs Aymane Safadi, with whom he discussed cooperation and coordination between Morocco and Jordan on several issues of common interest, which testifies to the brotherly links and strategic and historical relations between the two countries, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI and his brother, HM King Abdullah II.
The minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation also held a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Ibrahim Al-Jaafari, during which the two officials discussed ways of strengthening bilateral relations and consolidating the Moroccan-Iraqi Joint Commission, as well as the exchange of visits between the Foreign ministries of the two countries with a view to giving new impetus to bilateral relations in the various fields.
Furthermore, Bourita held talks with Somali minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ahmed Issa Awad, focusing on means to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in the area of professional training, development projects in various fields and coordination and cooperation between the Foreign ministries of the two countries.
The minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation also met with UN Secretary-General's Special Representative for Libya Ghassan Salamé. The two parties discussed the latest developments on the Libyan political scene.
The meeting was an opportunity for Salamé to review the efforts made by the UN to strengthen national reconciliation in Libya and move forward towards the establishment of State institutions and security in this Maghreb country.
