Speakers of Belgian Regional Parliaments Laud Exceptional Character of Relations with Morocco
The speakers of the Belgian regional parliaments lauded the exceptional character of friendship and cooperation relations between Morocco and Belgium, fostered by the vital contribution of the Moroccan community in the country.
During talks between Moroccan speaker of the House of Representatives, Habib El Malki, the Belgian officials stressed the need to further consolidate these relations by taking advantage of the convergence of views between the two countries in various regional and international issues of common interest.
In statements to the press, they welcomed the stabilizing role played by Morocco in the region and the singularity of its model in the management of religious affairs and the fight against radicalization.
El Malki also held a meeting with speaker of the Flemish parliament, Jean Peumans, on the development of cooperation, dialogue and exchange between the two parliamentary institutions.
On this occasion, Peumans expressed his readiness to work harder in order to bring the two institutions closer and to advocate for increased cooperation with Morocco in various areas, notably cultural and economic ones.
