Speaker of Turkey's Grand National Assembly (parliament), Ismail Kahraman, lauded on Monday the relations between his country and Morocco.

Kahraman, who held talks with speaker of Morocco's House of Representatives (lower house), Habib El Malki, said that "the participation of HM King Mohammed VI's representative at the inauguration ceremony of the Turkish President reflects the depth and the quality of relations between the two countries," the Lower House said in a release.

During this meeting, the Turkish official expressed his wish for more complementarity and coordination between the leaders of the two countries, adding that more efforts are needed to fully benefit from the free trade agreement between Morocco and Turkey.

For his part, El Malki hailed the privileged relations between Morocco and Turkey.

El Malki also praised Turkey's position on Morocco's national cause, expressing also his consideration for Erdogan's stance on the Palestinian issue, which is similar with that of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.

The Moroccan official also underlined the importance of developing cooperation between the two countries in the areas of trade and culture.

El Malki is on a working visit to Turkey to represent HM King Mohammed VI at the inauguration ceremony of president-elect Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
