According to a statement from the House of Representatives, the Moroccan delegation took part on Wednesday in the annual parliamentary meeting organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) at the United Nations headquarters.

The delegation also took part in the ministerial meeting chaired by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, in the meeting organized by the Moroccan ministry of Family, Solidarity, Equality and Social Development on the mechanisms aimed at supporting women's social protection and in the meeting organized by the League of Arab States, in addition to several side events organized by member countries.

The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), a functional commission of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), is a global policy-making body dedicated exclusively to promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women.

The sixty-third session of the Commission addresses as its priority theme ‘Social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls’. In addition, it evaluates progress in the implementation of the agreed conclusions from the sixtieth session (2016) on ‘Women’s empowerment and the link to sustainable development’.
