Interior Ministry Holds Broad Meeting To Assess Implementation of Extensive Regionalization Project

Pursuant to the High Royal orientations aimed at fully implementing the large-scale extensive regionalisation project through providing the effective support for this fundamental stage of Morocco's regional life, a broad meeting was held, Tuesday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Interior, in the presence of officials from this department and the Ministry of Economy and Finance as well as members of the Association of Moroccan Regions and Presidents of the Kingdom's Councils of Regions.

This meeting was an opportunity to hold a dialogue and debate, within the framework of coordination and reflection, to evaluate the process of periodic consultation established between the Ministry of Interior and the Association of Moroccan Regions to tackled its positive aspects and obstacles, said a statement from the Ministry of Interior.

The meeting shed light on the periodic review of what has been achieved by the Ministry of Interior as part of its contribution to the process of implementing the extensive regionalization project, notably regarding the completion of the legal and organizational arsenal, supporting regions in the elaboration of their development programs and strengthening the role of the Association of Moroccan Regions, the statement added.

The meeting was also an opportunity to review the action plan for the year 2018 which aims to meet the aspirations and expectations of the presidents of the regions by taking all measures which would contribute to an optimal and timely implementation of the said extensive regionalization project, it noted.

This meeting will be followed by other coordination and consultation meetings as part of the periodic evaluation of this project.
