HRH Prince Moulay Rachid Chairs Award Ceremony of 44th Hassan II Golf Trophy, 23rd HRH Princess Lalla Meryem Cup
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid chaired, on Sunday at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat, the award ceremony of the 44th Hassan II Golf Trophy and the 23rd HRH Princess Lalla Meryem Cup, held on April 10-16 under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI.
Upon his arrival at the Golf course, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, Chairman of the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association (ATH), reviewed a section of the Auxiliary Forces that paid the honors before being greeted notably by Mohamed Boussaid, Minister of Economy and Finance, Mohamed Sajid, Minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Crafts and Social Economy, Rachid Talbi Alami, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Lieutenant General Hosni Benslimane, Chairman of the Moroccan Olympic National Committee.
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid was also greeted by Ladies European Tour's chief executive Ivan Khodabakhsh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the PGA European Tour, David Williams, Chief Executive Officer of the PGA European Tour, Keith Pelley, and European Tour Ambassador Angel Gallardo.
His Royal Highness headed afterwards for the VIP lounge to watch the end of the Hassan II Trophy competition.
After the winners had been announced, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid handed the Grand Prize of the Hassan II Golf Trophy to Italian Edoardo Molinari, the winner of the 44th edition, and Lalla Meryem Cup to the winner of the 23rd edition, Czech Klara Spilkova.
After posing for a souvenir photo with the two winners, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid also awarded the second prize and third prize of the Hassan II Golf competition to Irish Paul Dunne and British Paul Waring respectively.
His Royal Highness also handed the 2nd and 3rd prizes of the Lalla Meryem Golf Cup to Norway’s Suzann Pettersen and British Annabel Dimmock respectively.
Speaking on this occasion, Ladies European Tour's chief executive Ivan Khodabakhsh praised efforts made by the ATH to ensure the success of the organization of Lalla Meryem Cup.
He also congratulated Morocco’s Maha Haddioui for her performance during the competition.
In his turn, Keith Pelly hailed the organization of the 44th edition of Hassan II Golf Trophy, noting that Morocco is the only nation in the world to host two competitions of the European Tour at the same time and the same location.
