HRH Princess Lalla Hasna's Birthday, A Princess Of Heart And Actions
The Royal family and the Moroccan people are marking this Monday the birthday of HRH Princess Lalla Hasna, who, since her prime age, stood out with lofty actions and multiple activities to promote ecology and social solidarity.
In addition to tirelessly fighting for environment protection and for lasting development, HRH Princess Lalla Hasna is active and committed for Morocco's lowest social groups.
Efforts made by HRH the Princess and initiatives in the field of environment protection earned her to be named in 2007 UN ambassador for the Euro-Mediterranean regional environment program, in recognition for the princess commitment for environment preservation, as chairwoman of the Mohammed VI Foundation for environment protection.
The Foundation has indeed launched in June 1999 cleaning campaigns in Moroccan beaches and created the best and most clean Moroccan public beach.
HRH also established other distinctions to encourage environment protection, such as the prize of young reporters for environment and the photography prize, awarded annually on the international environment day.
HRH the princess also takes part in several international encounters dedicated to the preservation of environment such as the 27th session of the United Nations environment program's board of governors an chairing, last June, the opening of the 7th world congress of education to environment in Marrakech.
In addition to ecology activities, HRH the Princess is also active in social actions targeting young impoverished Moroccan, through the association SOS Villages enfants.
The princess chairs, in the same vein, several non-governmental organizations geared to protecting children in a difficult situation.
