Queen Letizia of Spain and Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Meryem, Chairwoman of the National Observatory of the Child's Rights (ONDE), visited on Thursday the Second chance School in Salé (École nationale de Cirque Shems'Y), considered as a lever for inclusion and social justice for equitable development.

On this occasion, executive director of ONDE, Lamia Bazir, made a presentation to Queen Letizia of Spain and HRH Princess Lalla Meryem on state measures to improve access to education for out-of-school children.

Explanations were also provided on the non-formal education programs and the Second chance School, as a mechanism for the reintegration of out-of-school children, that will be promoted as part of the "Cities without street children" initiative.

Afterwards, Queen Letizia of Spain and HRH Princess Lalla Meryem visited the teaching and trade apprenticeship rooms and then exchanged with the children in the educational, practical and artistic workshops. Her Majesty the Queen and Her Royal Highness also learned about the experiences of young people who have successfully completed their entrepreneurial or professional careers thanks to the School's non-formal education programs.

At the end of the visit, Queen Letizia of Spain and HRH Princess Lalla Meryem attended an artistic performance staged by the School's children and posed for a souvenir photo with them.

Upon their arrival at the Second chance School, Queen Letizia and HRH Princess Lalla Meryem reviewed a detachment of the Auxiliary Forces that made the honors, and were notably greeted by the minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research and the wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region.
