Casablanca: HM the King launches road upgrade programme of Errahma-Dar Bouaazza-Ouled Azzouz pole

HM King Mohammed VI launched on Monday in Casablanca a 400 million dirham road upgrade programme of the Errahma-Dar Bouaazza-Ouled Azzouz pole (54.7 KM).

   On this occasion, Interior minister, Mohamed Hassad, presented to the Sovereign the outlines of this programme, a perfect example of public-private partnership as it will be executed by the economic interest grouping (GIE) "Errahma" which consists of the main real estate developers operating in the target area.

   Part of the 2015-2020 Great Casablanca Region Development Plan, this new programme reflects HM the King’s resolve to closely follow up the urban upgrading process of the city of Casablanca and its region, by providing modern infrastructures and facilities to match its status of economic and financial capital of the Kingdom.

   The programme, which also reflects the Sovereign’s constant commitment to provide the conditions of a descent and prosperous life for citizens, includes the construction of important infrastructures in the municipalities of Dar Bouaâzza and Ouled Azzouz (province of Nouaceur) with the aim of improving mobility conditions between the new city of Errahma, Bouaâzza Dar Ouled Azzouz, curbing the fast urban growth in the area and increasing the attractiveness of these new urban centres. 

   The road upgrade programme consists of the widening of provincial roads N 3014 (2.3 km) and N 3001 (8.6 km), the national road N1 (11.3 km) and the regional road N 320 (17.2 km).

   The project also consists of the expansion of the provincial road N 3003 (6 km), the layout of provincial road N 3018 (4.8 km) and the building of a scenic road (4.5 km) as well as the construction of intersections and the reinforcement of public lighting networks.
