HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, Inaugurates in Tangier HH Lalla Abla Mosque

HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, inaugurated on Monday in Tangier a new mosque that the Sovereign named "HH Lalla Abla", before performing the prayer of greeting the mosque.

The inauguration of this mosque on the occasion of the celebration of the 19th anniversary of the accession of the Sovereign to the throne of his glorious ancestors reflects the attention granted by the Sovereign to religious affairs and his permanent will to endow the Kingdom with functional and aesthetic mosques.

The 26-million dirham project, which spans over a surface area of 5,712 m2, has a capacity of 1,900 worshipers and is part of the reconstruction program of Tangier's port area.

The new mosque houses two prayer rooms, accommodation for the Imam and the Muezzin and shops.
