HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, performs Eid Al Fitr prayer at Al Mohammadi Mosque in Casablanca

HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and HH Prince Moulay Ismail, performed, on Saturday, the Eid Al Fitr prayer at the Mohammadi Mosque in Casablanca's Habous neighborhood and received wishes on this joyful occasion.

Upon his arrival at the mosque, HM the King reviewed a detachment of the Royal Guard which paid the honors.

 After the Eid prayer, the Imam gave a lecture in which he recalled the virtues and benefits as well as the meaning of the holy month of Ramadan during which the believers enjoy a climate of piety, spirituality and divine blessing.

 The Imam, who underlined that this month of fasting is a strong moment in the life of Muslims through soul purification, noted the great divine rewards of fasting during this blessed month pursuant to Quranic verse: "Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. They used to sleep but little of the night, And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness." 

 The Imam said that Eid Al Fitr marks the end of the month of fasting whose virtues have reinforced believers looking to get closer to God by multiplying acts of piety and faith. He went on to say that this month mirrors the values of solidarity, cohesion and promotion of well-being in conformity with the teachings of Islam, a lofty religions that calls for brotherhood, tolerance, cooperation and bringing peoples closer.

 Eid Al Fitr is also an occasion to recall the laudable initiatives undertaken by HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, during the sacred month of Ramadan, by launching and inaugurating several projects in the different areas to ensure the dignity and happiness of his loyal subjects, said the Imam, highlighting the climate of spirituality and piety which prevailed during this month, mainly Laylat Al Qadr (26th day of Ramadan) during which the sovereign chaired a religious ceremony to commemorate it.

 HM the King was, afterwards, greeted by heads of Islamic countries' diplomatic missions accredited in Morocco who extended their congratulations and best wishes to the monarch.

 At the Casablanca's royal palace, HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, received the wishes of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and HH Prince Moulay Ismail.

 The sovereign received also the wishes of the head of government, the speakers of the two houses of parliament, HM the King's advisors, government members, high commissioners, presidents of constitutional bodies, HM the King's brothers-in-law, directors of royal offices, high-ranking officers of the Royal Armed Forces and several civil and military figures.
