HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, Performs Eid Al Adha Prayer at Ahl Fez Mosque in Rabat, Receives Congratulations
HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, HRH Prince Khaled bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HH Prince Moulay Ismail, performed on Friday the Eid Al Adha prayer at the Ahl Fez mosque, in Meshuar in Rabat.
Upon His arrival at the mosque, the Sovereign reviewed a detachment of the Royal Guard who paid the honors.
After the Eid Prayer, the Imam recalled in the Eid lecture the story of prophet Ibrahim with his son Ismail, a story telling the lofty values of Islam, namely sacrifice and altruism, adding that Eid Al Adha, which crowns the pilgrimage ritual, is an opportunity for all Muslims to thank God for all His blessings.
The Imam also pointed out that God blessed Morocco with noble and valiant Kings, who have always endeavored for the preservation of the Muslim religion and the promotion of the living conditions of their faithful subjects, noting that since His accession to the Throne, HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, spares neither His time nor His efforts to ensure progress and prosperity to His people.
The Sovereign continued with determination the process of reform and development of the Kingdom, while respecting the religious authenticity of His people, their values and traditions, the Imam added.
HM the King was then greeted by heads of Islamic diplomatic missions accredited to Morocco who extended to the Sovereign their congratulations and best wishes.
Afterwards, HM the King performed the sacrifice ritual according to the tradition of prophet Mohammed (PBUH). The Imam sacrificed the second sheep.
Following the ceremony, HM the King returned to the Royal Palace while cannons fired customary shots to mark the advent of this day of festivities.
At the Royal Palace, HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, received the wishes of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and HH prince Moulay Ismail.
HM the King also received the wishes of the Head of government, the speakers of the two houses of parliament, HM the King's advisors, members of government, high commissioners, presidents of constitutional bodies, directors of royal offices, HM the King's brothers-in-law, top officers of the staff of the Royal Armed Forces and several civil and military figures.
