HM the King Launches Two Projects Initiated by Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity in Tangier

HM King Mohammed VI launched, on Thursday in the Tangier-Assilah prefecture, two centers dedicated to education and training of people with hearing disabilities and customized care of patients with addictive behaviors.

Mobilizing investments of around 17 million dirhams, these projects confirm anew HM the King's interest in the socio-professional integration of people with disabilities and the preservation of the youth, especially from poor families.

The Educational Center for Auditory Rehabilitation, the first educational and training facility dedicated to people with hearing disabilities in Morocco, will offer the beneficiaries with adapted services to promote their development and socio-professional integration.

Planned on a plot of 2.823 m2, the future center will promote the early detection of hearing impairment among children and provide them with medical care, as well as contribute in the schooling and specialized education of these children (2 -18 years) and the training of young adults to get suitable jobs.

The 12-million-dirham center will be built within 24 months in the neighborhood of Bni Makada

The second project provides for building an addiction center in the district of Mghogha, the third of its kind built by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity in Tangier.

The 5-million-dirham center is part of the national program of the fight against addictive behaviors implemented upon High Royal instructions by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, in partnership with the ministries of Health and Interior.

Like those built by the Foundation in Casablanca, Rabat, Oujda, Nador, Marrakech, Tetouan and Tangier (districts of Bni Makada and Hay El Jadid), the future center will develop awareness and prevention campaigns against drug addiction, provide customized medical and social care of people with addictive behaviors, and promote effective family involvement in prevention activities.

Built on a lot of 1,500 m2 within 18 months, the center will also promote social reintegration of people with addictive behaviors, as well as coaching and training associations in the field of risk reduction.

On this occasion, HM the King chaired the signing ceremony of an agreement on the management of addiction centers, built by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity in different regions of the Kingdom.

This agreement was signed by El Houssaine Louardi, Health Minister, Mohamed El Azami, a member of the administration board of the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, and Mohammed Essalhi, president of the National Drug Risk Reduction Association "RdR-Maroc".
