Rabat-Sale-Zemmour-Zaer Region: HM The King Gives Strong Impulse To National Initiative For Human Development Programs

Rabat-Sale-Zemmour-Zaer Region: HM The King Gives Strong Impulse To National Initiative For Human Development Programs

The National initiative for human development, launched and sponsored by HM King Mohammed VI, to eradicate poverty and improve citizens' social and economic living conditions has been given a strong impulse on Monday by HM the King in the Rabat-Sale-Zemmour-Zaer Region.

HM the King dedicated a cooking training center in the Sidi Moussa neighborhood in Sale, launched construction of a cultural compound in the Said Hajji neighborhood and handed operating documents to 72 owners of small boats that sail between the two banks of Bouregreg Valley (Sale and Rabat).

The projects, worth over 23 million Dirhams, are meant to develop youth skills, reinforce community equipment, improve living conditions of local populations and preserve a time-honored job.

The new cooking training center (5.9 million DH) will ensure to young people living in precarious conditions social stability and successful economic integration, by giving them adapted training in cooking, pastry and bakery. It will help each trainee acquire bearings for professional integration, learn collective life rules, develop self-esteem and self-confidence and promote creativity, imagination and know-how.

Trainees will also be given a chance to participate in overarching projects such as starting or running cultural and artistic events. The center features technical workshops for cooking, pastry, bakery, and food catering, training rooms, an exhibition hall, a library, a meeting room and administrative offices.

The cultural compound in the Said Hajji neighborhood is part of the 2014-2016 urban upgrading program for the city of Sale. It is meant to promote local populations' access to cultural and artistic facilities and help in the emergence of new skills.

The project to be carried out in 12 months for a total amount of 14.4 Million DH, will feature an amphitheater (240 seats), a multi-usage room, reading rooms for children and adults, a multimedia room and another room for cultural and artistic activities, an exhibition hall and a coffee shop.

The small boats project is the fruit of partnership between INDH and the agency for the development of the Bouregreg Valley. It seeks to improve the income of recipients, improve sailing between Rabat and Sale and preserve a time-honored activity.

These INDH projects stem from an approach to meet the targeted population's needs by involving recipients and local
