On Royal Instructions, Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity Starts Humanitarian Intervention Program as Part of 2018 Cold-Winter Operation

On royal instructions, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity has started its program of humanitarian interventions as part of the 2018 Cold-Winter operation.

The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity is mobilizing, once again, in favor of rural population exposed to the cold spell and the heavy snowfall announced for this Saturday, January 6th, and activates the program Cold Winter operation in the provinces of the Grand and Middle Atlas, said the Foundation in a statement.

This humanitarian operation, which is carried out on an annual basis, is initiated by the Foundation when climatic conditions, particularly the significant snowfall, cause the isolation of population in the mountainous regions and limit their access to food resources.

Important human and logistical resources are deployed on the affected provinces, in coordination with the ministry of the Interior and the local authorities. The Foundation's teams are mobilized in several intervention sites to provide assistance to the many poor families and relieve them from the effects of cold. The population benefit from the distribution of a Kit consisting of food products (flour, rice, sugar, tea, salt, oil and milk) and blankets.

For this first phase of the 2018 Cold-Winter operation, the Foundation's teams will operate in four provinces, namely Khénifra, Midelt, Azilal and Al Haouz. A large program of humanitarian aid will be set up as of this Saturday, January 6th and will benefit the thousands of citizens in these regions, said the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity.
