Here follows a statement by the royal Office:
"HM King Mohammed VI received on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at the Royal Palace in Rabat, Ahmed Chaouki Benayoub, whom the Sovereign has appointed as the inter-ministerial delegate for Human Rights (DIDH).
During this audience, the Sovereign highlighted the role of this Delegation in the monitoring of government policy, particularly in the field of the protection and promotion of human rights, as well as coordination in this area with the ministerial departments and institutions concerned, in addition to monitoring the implementation of the relevant international conventions and the preparation and presentation of national reports to the competent UN mechanisms.
HM the King called on the new inter-ministerial delegate to continue efforts to preserve the achievements made, integrate the culture of human rights into national public policies and strengthen cooperation with relevant governmental and non-governmental actors and organizations".
