Application of Migratory Standards Requires 'Immediate Return' of Polisario Separatist to Spain

The application of Peruvian migratory laws requires the immediate return of polisario separatist, Khadijetou El Mokhtar, to Spain, from where she travelled to Lima, said the Foreign ministry of this South American country. Application of Migratory Standards Requires 'Immediate Return' of Polisario Separatist to Spain (Peru’s Foreign Ministry)

"In accordance with the Peruvian migratory standards, Khadijetou El Mokhtar should immediately return to Spain," said the ministry in a statement published on its website, noting that "the Spanish citizen is prohibited from entering Peru pursuant to a decision of the national body in charge of migration, dating from last August 18th," for "breaching her migratory status as a tourist during her stay in our country.”

The ministry said "the Spanish citizen voluntarily remains at the international airport of Lima since she refuses to return to her country of origin and does not accept the facilities offered to her by the national body in charge of migration, adding that "the migration authorities acted with due regard to the rights of Khadijetou El Mokhtar, who receives at any moment the consular assistance of the Spanish Consulate General in Lima."

The Peruvian Foreign ministry noted that diplomatic relations with the "puppet Saharawi republic" have been suspended since 1996, therefore "the Peruvian government does not recognize the official fulfillment of missions of diplomatic representation or diplomatic actions by delegates of the ghostly RASD in our country.”

"The Peruvian government does not intend the re-establishment of diplomatic relations with SADR," the ministry said.

The Peruvian Interior Minister, Carlos Basombrio, has recently said that Khadijetou El Mokhtar "is not recognized and was not invited by the Peruvian Foreign ministry.”

Last week, the Peruvian immigration services under the Interior ministry denied the allegations of the polisario separatist regarding her arrest, pointing out that this Spanish citizen does not have a diplomatic visa issued by the Peruvian authorities and obtained no advantage or immunity as a representative of the polisario in Lima, contrary to her false allegations.
