
The initiatives presented by Morocco at the 116th ordinary session of the Arab Economic and Social Council at ministerial level, held on Wednesday in Cairo, was met with Arab countries' support and appreciation.
TIn the resolutions adopted by the Council, participants expressed their gratitude to the Kingdom for drafting the Arab Youth Charter, a policy document in the field of public policies to the benefit of young people.
They also welcomed Morocco's proposed resolution on “strengthening the right to family planning in Arab countries and analyzing the challenges and opportunities associated with declining fertility rates.”
In addition, participants also welcomed Morocco's sharing of its pioneering experience in the social and solidarity economy and its proposal to create an Arab network for the social and solidarity economy in order to bolster cooperation and the exchange of experiences and expertise in this field.
During this 116th session, participants described as “exceptional” the organization of the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety, held on February 18-20 in Marrakech, under the theme “Commit to Life.”
This session, which took place at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, was devoted to reviewing several key socio-economic proposals, including the creation of the Arab Medicines Agency “Waad,” the Council of Arab Ministers responsible for artificial intelligence (AI), the Arab Council of Ministers of Trade, the Arab Customs Affairs Council, and the Arab Center for AI.
The program for this session included the presentation of the Secretary-General's report and follow-up on the implementation of the resolutions of the 115th session of the Council, in addition to the economic and social question for the 35th Summit of the Council of the League of Arab States, scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia.
