Consultations for the formation of the new government will include all the parties represented in the Parliament: El Othmani

Morocco's new appointed Head of Government, Saad Eddine El Othmani, said on Sunday that he will begin consultations with all the political parties represented in the parliament for the formation of the new government.

In a statement published by the Justice and Development Party (PJD) in its website, El Othmani said the decision was taken following a meeting of the Party’s general secretariat held on Sunday, adding that consultations will include all the political parties represented in the parliament, respectively, according to their results during the last legislative elections.

PJD’s national council expressed its support to El Othmani during a meeting held on Saturday in Salé, stressing the need to speed up the formation of the new government in accordance with the royal guidelines.

In a statement issued after the meeting, PJD’s national council noted that the new government, which must enjoy the confidence of the Sovereign, must be strong, homogeneous and efficient, in compliance with the Constitution, the democratic choice and the popular will expressed during the last legislative elections.

HM King Mohammed VI received, on Friday at the Royal Palace in Casablanca, Saad Eddine El Othmani, from the PJD, whom the sovereign named head of government, in conformity with the constitution, and tasked him with forming the new government.
