Gaza Children Arrive in Casablanca for 16th Summer Camps Edition

A group of fifty children from Gaza arrived on Monday in Casablanca, to participate in the 16th edition of summer camps, named "Harat Al Maghariba," event organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.

This edition's official program is set to kick off on Tuesday with the launch of "summer school" for Moroccan and Palestinian children dubbed "turning video games into a tool for education, learning and entertainment," the Agency stated in a press release.

Experts will host interactive workshops and practical applications focusing on education on the means of protection, AI, and responsible entertainment.

This edition, initiated by the support of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication (Youth Department), will be held on August 10-26, combining comfort and entertainment, educational trips, as well as meetings and exchanges between Palestinian children and their Moroccan peers.

The program of this edition also includes artistic and athletic competitions between children from Gaza and Moroccan peers, as well as touristic visits in Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Tetouan, M'diq and Chefchaouen, to explore historical monuments and gain knowledge on big economical projects implemented by the Kingdom, particularly in infrastructure and large-scale sports equipment.

As each year, Al-Quds children share with their Moroccan peers their joy of national festivals during their stay, through artistic performances including the Moroccan national anthem and extracts of the song "Nidae El Hassan," accompanied by choreographies inspired by the Palestinian heritage and traditional "Dabke" dances.
