Morocco’s Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch chaired a meeting on Tuesday in Rabat dedicated to reviewing the foreign trade sector roadmap for the 2025–2027 period.
The plan aims to position trade as a driver of growth and employment, encourage exports, and promote national products, in line with the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, according to a press release from the Department of the Head of Government.
During the meeting, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Industry and Trade, in charge of Foreign Trade, Omar Hejira, presented the 2025–2027 foreign trade roadmap, which is built around three strategic objectives: the creation of approximately 76,000 new jobs, the expansion of the export base through the establishment of 400 new export companies per year, and the achievement of an additional 84 billion dirhams in export revenue.
Akhannouch emphasized that, in line with the Royal Directives, the government has worked to strengthen foreign trade and promote national exports as a lever for growth and development. He stressed the importance of providing support and incentives to Moroccan small and medium-sized enterprises seeking to enter the export market.
The foreign trade roadmap for the 2025–2027 period includes six reform initiatives, including the acceleration of foreign trade digitalization, the creation of regional offices to support this digitalization, and the promotion of exports in the sectors of handicrafts and the social and solidarity economy.
