Akhannouch preside la reunión de la Comisión Interministerial encargada de la puesta en marcha del programa de reconstrucción y rehabilitación de las zonas siniestradas por el terremoto de Al Hauz

Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, chaired on Wednesday in Rabat a meeting of the Interministerial Commission in charge of the reconstruction program for areas affected by the Al Haouz earthquake, dedicated to monitoring the implementation of the various components of this program, in line with the High Royal Directives.

Akhannouch praised the results achieved, the fruit of constant mobilization and good governance, stressing that the High Royal Guidelines serve as a compass for government action aimed at upgrading basic infrastructure and improving the living conditions of local populations,  according to a press release from the Head of Government's office.

The Director General of the High Atlas Development Agency presented a report on the progress made, highlighting in particular the completion of works for 51,154 housing units and the distribution of 6.9 billion dirhams in financial aid to affected families, the same source noted.

Significant progress has been recorded across several sectors. In the field of infrastructure, works to upgrade the national road N7 are advancing, alongside the construction of 118 km of new roads. In education, 306 schools have been rehabilitated, while in health, 103 centers have undergone upgrades.

The agricultural sector has seen the free distribution of livestock and barley, as well as the rehabilitation of rural infrastructures. In the water sector, the connection of rural populations to the drinking water distribution network has reached a 52% completion rate. Tourism has recorded the reconstruction and upgrading of 199 accommodation establishments, while trade has benefited from direct support to 1,610 merchants for the rehabilitation of their shops, according to the same source.
