Head of government Saad Dine El Otmani held talks, on Monday in Rabat, with Rwandan Foreign Minister Richard Sezibera, who is on a visit to the Kingdom, along with a delegation from his country, to take part in the bilateral joint committee.

During the meeting, the two parties stressed the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation between Morocco and Rwanda, said a statement from the department of the head of government.

On this occasion, the Rwandan official conveyed the greetings and fraternal esteem of Rwandan President Paul Kagame to HM King Mohammed VI for his initiatives in favor of African countries and peoples.

El Otmani expressed, for his part, the Kingdom's consideration for the role played by Rwanda in the African continent and the positive momentum given by the Rwandan presidency to the AU's reform process.

In accordance with its African policy, conducted under the leadership of HM the King, Morocco is determined to continue supporting all initiatives undertaken by Rwanda to foster the development of the African continent, he said.

The two sides also welcomed the bilateral partnership in the various fields, reinforced by 23 cooperation agreements concluded during the royal visit to Rwanda in 2016, including different sectors as agriculture, housing, vocational training, banking services, new technology, air transportation, tourism and renewable energy.

This partnership will be further enhanced by the signing of 12 new cooperation agreements during this committee, according to the same source.
