His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, addressed a message to the Chairman of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, Coly Seck, on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, celebrated, this year, on November 25.

Here follows the full text of the Royal Message:

“Praise be to God,May peace and blessings be upon the Prophet, His Kith and Kin

Your Excellency Mr. Coly Seck, Chairman of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People

Your Excellencies,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

On the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, I would like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to you for your dedicated, continuous efforts to achieve the lofty objectives of your esteemed Committee. I commend your praiseworthy action at the international level to support our Palestinian brothers and raise awareness of their just cause and legitimate rights.

I wish to take this opportunity to reaffirm the Kingdom of Morocco's unwavering commitment to defending the Palestinian cause and contributing actively and effectively to finding a just solution to it, since the settlement of the Palestinian issue is the core element for achieving peace and stability in the Middle East region.

Your Excellencies,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Over the past two years, the Palestinian people have suffered tremendous hardship under horrific conditions that have often exceeded what any human being can bear, including killings, displacement, and starvation in the Gaza Strip, as well as daily attacks and harassment in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Consistent with its steadfast solidarity with the Palestinian people, and in response to the humanitarian catastrophe that has befallen them, the Kingdom of Morocco has, on five occasions since October 2023, sent urgent humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. The aid included food, water, relief supplies, medicine, and medical equipment. The latest such aid was in the form of an airlift, conducted in two phases, through which approximately 300 tons of humanitarian aid was provided. The delivery of this Moroccan humanitarian assistance was secured via an unprecedented land route.

Your Excellencies,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

After two years of a devastating war in the Gaza Strip, intensive and unrelenting diplomatic efforts have led to a ceasefire agreement.

I hope that all its provisions and different phases will be complied with, thereby putting an end to the killings, alleviating the suffering of our Palestinian brothers and sisters, allowing for the smooth and sufficient flow of humanitarian aid and, subsequently, launching the urgently needed reconstruction process, and paving the way for a just, comprehensive political solution to the Palestinian question.

I welcome this positive development and wish to express appreciation for the tireless efforts and personal involvement of His Excellency President Donald Trump, who played a decisive role in achieving this noble objective. I also commend the unstinting efforts of all the mediators concerned.

Your Excellencies,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

We stand at a pivotal moment, with hopeful prospects for the Palestinian people in their long journey towards freedom and independence. It is therefore necessary to seize every opportunity and leverage all resources through continued regional and international mobilization so as to make sure the agreement is implemented in full and its various phases are respected.

In keeping with its commitment to peace, the Kingdom of Morocco, is ready to actively contribute to the implementation of the agreed phases and processes concerned.

In this regard, any international effort aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace should, in my opinion, be based on the following principles:

- Ensure the unity of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank - politically and from the administrative standpoint - under the supervision of the Palestinian National Authority. The aim is for the said territories to ultimately constitute an integral part of the desired Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital;

- Support the Palestinian National Authority, under the leadership of my brother, His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas, and enhance its political, administrative, and financial capabilities;

- Boost the Palestinian economy by lifting restrictions on the movement of goods, funds, and people;

- Encourage Palestinian reconciliation efforts to close national Palestinian ranks, under the umbrella of the Palestine Liberation Organization;

- Launch a serious negotiation process between the two parties, based on a precise, specific timetable, within the framework of the two-state solution, with a view to establishing a sovereign and viable Palestinian state, along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living in peace and security with the State of Israel.

Your Excellencies,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

A just, lasting solution to the issue of Palestine cannot be achieved without addressing the question of Jerusalem in a serious, responsible way, given the particular symbolism of the city and the extremely sensitive nature

of the matter.

With that in mind, and as Chairman of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s al-Quds Committee, I continue to exert untiring efforts to safeguard the city’s authentic cultural character, preserve its legal status, and defend the sanctity of Islamic and Christian holy sites in al-Quds, building, to this end, on the combined effect of diplomatic action, on the one hand, and work on the ground, on the other, through the social projects implemented by the Bayt Mal al-Quds al-Sharif Agency.

In this regard, I cannot but express deep concern about the growing, unilateral Israeli provocations in Jerusalem and the repeated violations of the sanctity of al-Aqsa Mosque. These are serious transgressions, the grave consequences of which I have consistently warned against. These practices fuel extremism and hate speech, at the expense of reason and moderation. Should such acts continue, they threaten to plunge us into a spiral of religious conflict that could, God forbid, engulf the entire region.

At a time when the world's attention is focused on the recent positive developments in the Gaza Strip, in the aftermath of the ceasefire, the West Bank is facing a situation which is as tragic as it is dangerous, given the spreading settlements and the growing, daily attacks against Palestinians and their property. Their aim of these practices is to displace the peaceful population and pave the way for de facto and de jure annexation, thus destroying the very foundation of the two-state solution.

Your Excellencies,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The growing global impetus in favour of the Palestinian people's right to establish their independent state within the framework of the two-state solution, as attested by the continuing international recognitions of the State of Palestine, reinforces the momentum created by the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, which is an initiative launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic. This is testimony to the growing conviction that there is no alternative to the two-state solution, and that there should be no further delay in implementing it on the ground.

To contribute to this momentum, the Kingdom of Morocco, in partnership with the Kingdom of the Netherlands, hosted, in May 2025, the fifth meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.

That solution has thus become an urgent necessity, dictated both by political realism and humanitarian and ethical considerations, in the sense that it would only do justice to a people who has, for decades, been deprived of its legitimate political rights and of the human dignity guaranteed by all divine and secular laws.

Your Excellencies,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

In keeping with a firm belief in the just nature and centrality of the Palestinian cause, and given, as well, its commitment to achieving a just peace and its keenness to capitalize on the positive momentum generated by the ceasefire agreement, the Kingdom of Morocco affirms its readiness to engage in international efforts to bring about the right conditions for reviving the Middle East peace process. The latter should be based on clear principles and a reasonable timeframe - away from the logic of crisis management - in order to achieve security, stability, and prosperity for all peoples in the region.

Before concluding, I would like to reiterate my sincere thanks to the members of the esteemed UN Committee. I urge them to keep up their earnest efforts in order to muster international support for the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, and thus contribute effectively to achieving a just, lasting peace based on the two-state solution.

May the Almighty guide your steps and grant you success.

Wassalamu alaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh."
