Köhler Hopes that 2nd Geneva Round Table Discussions will Reinforce Positive Momentum of Previous Meeting
The UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy for the Moroccan Sahara, Horst Köhler, expressed the hope that the 2nd round table discussions would "reinforce the positive momentum" of the previous meeting, held last December in Geneva.
The second round table meeting on the Sahara, which has just begun, "will allow delegations to discuss the elements necessary for a solution, in accordance with Security Council resolution 2440, regional issues and confidence-building measures", according to the same source.
The Moroccan delegation to this round table meeting is led by Nasser Bourita, minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. It includes Omar Hilale, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Morocco to the United Nations in New York, Sidi Hamdi Ould Errachid, president of the Laäyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, Yenja El Khattat, president of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, and Fatima El Adli, community actor and member of Smara's municipal council.
