Lower House Speaker Attends 40th APU Parliament Speakers Conference

Speaker of the house of representatives (lower house) Habib El Malki represented Morocco in the 40th conference of speakers of national parliaments of the African Parliamentary Union (APU), which opened Thursday in Ouagadougou.

El Malki led an important parliamentary delegation which took part, before arriving to Ouagadougou, in the 71st session of the APU executive committee which opened on Monday, ahead of the 40th APU conference themed "For the Promotion of Democracy and Sustainable Development".

The African Parliamentary Union, ex-Union of African Parliaments, is a continental inter-parliamentary organization set up in Abidjan on 13th February, 1976. It is a privileged framework for parliamentary dialogue and for promoting peace, democracy, good governance, sustainable development and social progress in Africa.
