The Royal Family and the entire Moroccan people celebrate on Tuesday the birthday of HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa, an occasion to highlight the various actions of Her Royal Highness in the social field and her constant and unwavering commitment to the improvement of the situation of children with special needs, mainly hearing and speech impaired children.
A princess with a big heart, HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa has been involved in social activism from a young age, constantly looking after the well-being of hearing and speech impaired children and undertaking initiatives that contribute to their integration into the social fabric as full-fledged citizens.
In her capacity as President of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation, Her Royal Highness is concerned about this vulnerable category, surrounding it with her solicitude and providing invaluable support to this institution, a pioneer in the care of hearing and speech impaired children.
In fact, under the leadership of HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa, the Foundation carried out national and international programs that enabled the emergence of a unique Moroccan inclusion model that supports every deaf and hard-of-hearing child, from early detection through to academic success. This comprehensive medical, educational, and social model is spearheaded by the Lalla Asmaa Foundation.
The unwavering support that HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa never ceases to show towards hearing and speech impaired children is a sign of the constant adhesion of Her Royal Highness to the various initiatives of social and charitable nature.
On September 15, HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa, President of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation, and Her Excellency Rachel Ruto, First Lady of the Republic of Kenya and President of the "Voice of Children Initiative" Foundation, visited Kenyan and Moroccan children at the Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Rabat who have received cochlear implants, as part of the 4th phase of the international program "United, We Hear Each Other Better" and the national campaign "NASMAA."
On the same day, Her Royal Highness chaired, at the Royal Guest Palace in Rabat a luncheon offered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, in honor of the First Lady of the Republic of Kenya Rachel Ruto, and the delegation accompanying her..
On the previous day, Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa had received, at the Rabat-Salé Airport, Rachel Ruto who paid a working visit to the Kingdom.
On June 30, Her Royal Highness chaired, at the Foundation's headquarters in Rabat, the closing ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year of this Foundation, a national and international benchmark in supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing children.
On June 16, Her Royal Highness chaired in Rabat the first Patient Day for those suffering from deafness, a noble initiative that encapsulates twenty years of the Foundation's commitment to deaf and hard-of-hearing children and their families, as well as the launch of the "hearing aids for all" program, which falls fully in line with the national program "NASMAA" and the international program "Together: We Hear Each Other Better".
On December 12, 2025, HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa chaired, at the Mohammed VI University of Health Sciences in Rabat, the opening ceremony of the 1st African Congress on Pediatric Cochlear Implantation, a major milestone in the structuring of a genuine African hub dedicated to childhood deafness and cochlear implantation.
Four days earlier, Her Royal Highness had inaugurated in Meknes the “Princess Lalla Asmaa” Center, a regional hub of excellence for a comprehensive and entirely free of charge care for hearing impaired children from neighbouring cities and communes.
On November 4, 2025, HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa arrived in Nairobi for a two-day working visit at the invitation of Her Excellency Rachel Ruto, First Lady of the Republic of Kenya. The following day, Her Royal Highness and Rachel Ruto chaired the launch of the fourth phase of the "Together, We Hear Each Other Better" program, at the Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi.
On the same day, the First Lady of the Republic of Kenya, Rachel Ruto, hosted at the State House in Nairobi, a dinner in honor of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Asmaa, president of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation.
Cultural and sporting activities are also at the heart of the concerns of Her Royal Highness who is also the Honorary President of the Society for the Protection of Animals and Nature.
With the celebration of the birthday of HRH Princess Lalla Asmaa, the Moroccan people pay tribute to a strongly committed Princess who, by her great kindness and her known and recognized humanism, has forever marked the social action for the benefit of hearing impaired children.
