
Moroccan students are renowned for excellence in France, particularly in mathematics and engineering, according to Campus France, the agency responsible for promoting higher education.

This excellence, he explained, is particularly reflected intheir remarkable participation in the competitive entrance exams for France's prestigious higher institutions.
“For several years now, Moroccan students have been among the top foreign contingents admitted to the École Polytechnique, one of the most prestigious institutions in the world,” he added, noting that this example perfectly illustrates the quality of their education.
According to the agency's statistics, France welcomes more than 43,300 Moroccan students enrolled in higher education. According to the agency's statistics, France welcomes more than 43,300 Moroccan students enrolled in higher education. The Kingdom thus ranks first among the countries of origin of international students in France.
The majority of Moroccan students choose universities (56%), but a growing number are turning to business schools (19%) and engineering schools (14%). Over the last five years, the increase has been particularly marked for business schools (+65%) and engineering schools (+18%), according to the same source.
In terms of disciplines, science is by far the most popular field, with nearly 12,000 Moroccan students, 56% of whom are enrolled in master's programs, followed by bachelor's degrees (39%) and doctorates (5%).
According to UNESCO, some 48% of Moroccan students studying abroad choose France, while Germany ranks second in Europe with a mere 7%. However, other destinations are growing rapidly, such as Canada (+103%), Turkey (+206%), Italy (+261%) and Belgium (+147%).
With a view to providing appropriate support for Moroccan talent, the Alumni House was recently inaugurated in Casablanca as the first initiative of its kind worldwide to be implemented as part of the Morocco-France cooperation.
A true hub for exchange and opportunity, this structure offers mentoring, professional development, and intergenerational dialogue initiatives to promote skills and strengthen synergies between the academic, economic, and cultural spheres.
Founded in 2010, Campus France's main missions include managing scholarships and welcoming international students, as well as running a web platform to support and assist foreign students with their enrollment.
