A woman has been taken into custody for posting a picture of herself on social media wearing a T-shirt with blasphemous markings, Morocco's Public Prosecutor at the Rabat Court of First Instance announced on Sunday.
The woman paired the photo with a comment containing offensive remarks to the religion of Islam, the same source adds, noting that the Public Prosecutor's Office had ordered an investigation into the case. In view of the requirements of the proceedings, the defendant had been placed in custody in accordance with the law.
Appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation upon its completion.
