Morocco’s Digital Transformation Momentum Highlighted in Estonia

Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni highlighted on Monday in Tallinn (Estonia's capital), Morocco’s dynamic strides in digital transformation, driven by the Royal Vision and reflected in the flagship programs her department is spearheading.

According to a statement by the Ministry, Seghrouchni, currently on a working visit to the Republic of Estonia, toured the Estonian Digital Center alongside Morocco’s Ambassador to Finland and Estonia Mohamed Achgalou. The visit provided an opportunity to explore Estonia’s experience in electronic public services, the use of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital identity, along with an overview of upcoming digital projects.

The Minister also held a work meeting with Estonia’s Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs Liisa-Ly Pakosta, attended by several senior Estonian officials. The talks focused on both countries’ digital visions, with both sides expressing their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and advancing joint initiatives.

Seghrouchni further participated in a roundtable on “Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation, and Cybersecurity,” which brought together several experts from the Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications.

On this occasion, Estonian companies shared their experiences and ongoing projects in Morocco and globally, while exploring avenues for future cooperation and the exchange of technical expertise between the two nations.

This working visit forms part of the new momentum driving Moroccan-Estonian relations, underpinned by the joint declaration signed in Rabat on 21 October 2024. In that declaration, Estonia voiced interest in Morocco’s strategic economic positioning as a gateway to African markets, and expressed its readiness to develop joint projects within a Morocco-Estonia-Africa tripartite framework, particularly in key sectors related to digital and energy transitions, the statement concludes.
