Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, paid on Monday a visit to Skopje during which he held high-level talks mainly with his counterpart from the Republic of North Macedonia, Timčo Mucunski, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
During his working visit, Bourita was also received by the President of North Macedonia, H.E. Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, and met with the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Afrim Gashi.
Talks underscored a shared commitment by both nations to deepening cooperation across various sectors and highlighted North Macedonia’s unwavering support for Morocco’s Autonomy Plan as the sole basis for resolving the artificial dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.
Bourita’s visit comes amid a growing wave of international support for Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara and the autonomy plan proposed by the Kingdom in 2007, a momentum now joined by at least 123 countries, including Balkan states and permanent members of the UN Security Council.
