Morocco's Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour, noted on Wednesday in Casablanca that the Foreign Trade Roadmap for the period 2025–2027 is the result of a comprehensive process of listening and consultation with national economic stakeholders.
Speaking at the official launch ceremony of the roadmap, Mezzour explained that this initiative was based on regional tours, meetings with federations and professionals, and an in-depth study to identify potential opportunities by market and by product.
According to the minister, the roadmap enables operators to precisely choose the exact tools to strengthen their offerings, access new markets, tailor their products to specific market needs, and further improve their quality systems.
For his part, the Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, Omar Hejira, highlighted the significant potential for boosting Moroccan exports.
"With 22 priority countries, 200 high-potential products identified, and an export potential of 120 billion dirhams—including 12 billion in Africa—the Kingdom holds major assets to broaden its export base," he stressed.
Despite growing export dynamics, with figures rising from 185 billion dirhams in 2012 to 455 billion in 2024, Morocco’s export structure still faces several challenges. These include geographical concentration—70% of exports are destined for Europe—and sectoral concentration, with 92% of exports coming from six key sectors.
Moreover, Hejira noted that the roadmap includes broad-based consultation with national and regional economic actors, aiming to raise awareness of export support mechanisms and adapt accompanying tools—particularly through the "One Shop Store Export" platform, designed to centralize and simplify export procedures.
The ceremony was marked by the signing of several agreements outlining the commitments of the involved parties, with the goal of ensuring an efficient and coordinated implementation of the 2025–2027 Foreign Trade Roadmap.
These agreements reflect the shared commitment of public and private stakeholders to join forces and turn foreign trade into a genuine driver of growth, employment, and Morocco’s international influence.
