The new composition of the Council reflects intellectual and social plurality, as well as cultural, linguistic and territorial diversity, so as to capitalize on achievements and ensure a quantitative evolution aimed at supporting irreversible choices guaranteeing the universality and indivisibility of human rights.

The principle of pluralism, which has prevailed in the selection of members and their appointment by HM the King, of constitutional institutions and elected bodies, as well as of open candidatures, reflects the value added of good practices relating to representativeness within national institutions as provided for by the Paris Principles adopted by virtue of a UN General Assembly resolution in 1993.

The members of the Council will work on the implementation of its broad prerogatives according to a three-dimensional approach based on the protection of human rights, their promotion and the prevention of all violations through the creation of the National Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture and another for children victims of abuse, the mechanism for the protection of persons with disabilities, the strengthening of mediation mechanisms and the evaluation of public policies. All of these measures will open up new prospects for the CNDH mandate as part of the immutable choices of the Moroccan state.

The Council will organize on 23 July at its headquarters in Rabat a reception in honor of the new members.
