El Reino Unido reafirma su compromiso a favor de una asociación reforzada con Marruecos

The British government reaffirmed on Tuesday, through Trade Policy Minister Douglas Alexander, its commitment to strengthening its partnership with Morocco.

"In this context, the Department for Business and Trade, along with the UK Trade Envoy to Morocco and West Africa, will work closely with Morocco to deepen economic ties," Alexander said in remarks delivered at the House of Commons, the lower house of the UK Parliament.

He emphasized the importance the UK government places on expanding its partnership with Morocco, including as part of the infrastructure development program being implemented by the Kingdom in preparation for the 2030 World Cup.

Cooperation in other sectors, particularly agriculture, is also on the agenda, Alexander added, noting that newly established partnerships between the two kingdoms should further boost trade and investment over the next decade.

The official also announced that UK Export Finance, the British credit agency, has launched a program to support development in Morocco’s southern provinces.

He recalled that several agreements were signed between the UK and Morocco during the recent visit of British Foreign Secretary David Lammy to Morocco, aimed at giving a strong boost to the bilateral partnership.
