HRH Princess Lalla Meryem Chairs in Rabat 7th Meeting of Board of Hassan II Foundation for Veterans' Social Welfare

Upon the Instructions of HM the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), HRH Princess Lalla Meryem, chairwoman of the Hassan II Foundation for Veterans' Social Welfare (OSAMAC), chaired, on Wednesday at the FAR general staff, the 7th meeting of the Foundation's Board.

At her arrival at the FAR general staff, Her Royal Highness was greeted by the Lieutenant-General, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and deputy president of the Foundation, and reviewed a detachment of the FAR headquarters battalion who gave the honors.

HRH Princess Lalla Meryem was greeted afterwards by the Foundation Board members.

Pursuant to laws governing the said foundation, the board examined the status and financial report from 2013 to 2017. It was also informed about actions undertaken for the year 2018.

The board also examined and approved the program of actions scheduled for 2019, as well as the budget earmarked for it.

The foundation started its activities in 2003, the date in which HM King Mohammed VI had decided to give its chairmanship to HRH Princess Lalla Meryem.

In order to make the Foundation's actions more community-based, HM the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Force, ordered its restructuring in 2005.

Since then, 22 regional delegations are scattered all over the Kingdom, and 4 medical and social branches are set up within military hospitals.

In accordance with the laws in force, the Hassan II Foundation for Veterans' Social Welfare continues to benefit former soldiers and veterans and their families through measures and partnerships involving the different military social actors, notably the FAR Mutuelle (insurance organization), the Health Service Inspectorate and the Military Housing and Equipment Agency, as well as public and private sector actors.
