The visit of HRH Princess Lalla Salma to Abidjan

HRH Princess Lalla Salma Left Abidjan After Taking Part In Gala Dinner Of Children Of Africa Foundation

HRH Princess Lalla Salma, Chairwoman of the Lalla Salma Foundation for Cancer Prevention and Treatment, guest of honor of President of the Children of Africa Foundation Dominique Ouattara, left, on Sunday, Abidjan after taking part in the charity gala dinner to raise funds for the equipment of the Mother and Child Hospital in Bingerville (a suburb of Abidjan).

At the Félix Houphouët-Boigny airport of Abidjan, Her Royal Highness was seen off mainly by President of the Children of Africa Foundation and First Lady of Côte d'Ivoire Dominique Ouattara, members of the Ivorian cabinet as well as by Morocco's ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire.

 During her stay in Abidjan, the Princess also visited "la Case des enfants", a reception center for street children, orphans and abuse victims, handed a consignment of medicines to the pediatric oncology department of the Treichville hospital center and was received by President of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire Alassane Ouattara.

HRH Princess Lalla Salma Hands Medicine Consignment To Pediatric Oncology Department Of Treichville Hospital In Abidjan

HRH Princess Lalla Salma, Chairwoman of the Lalla Salma Foundation for Cancer Prevention and Treatment and guest of honor of the President of the Children of Africa Foundation, handed, on Saturday in Abidjan, a consignment of medicines to the pediatric oncology department of the Treichville hospital center.

 On this occasion, HRH Princess Lalla Salma, who was accompanied by First Lady of Côte d'Ivoire Dominique Ouattara, visited cancer kids admitted into the facility.

 While touring the pediatric oncology department, details were given to Her Royal Highness on the functioning and difficulties of treating cancer kids.

 After the visit to the Treichville hospital center, executive chairman of the Lalla Salma Foundation Rachid Bekkali announced that the Foundation decided to provide rented accommodations for mothers of children hospitalized in the oncology department of the Treichville hospital center, awaiting a better, durable solution.

 He added that the Foundation will also offer medical equipment for the said department.

 The consignment of medicines is part of the global health care program for cancer kids in the region which follows the call and recommendations made by the Marrakech international conference organized by the Lalla Salma Foundation in January 2012.

 

 The Foundation also supports the medical staff in these countries via the African Oncology School. The targeted countries are Mali, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal and Gabon. This partnership includes elaborating programs, training, implementing of strategies of cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment and providing health care for young patients.

HRH Princess Lalla Salma Visits In Abidjan Reception Center For Children In Difficult Circumstances

 HRH Princess Lalla Salma, Chairwoman of the Lalla Salma Foundation for Cancer Prevention and Treatment, accompanied by President of the Children of Africa Foundation and First Lady of Côte d'Ivoire Dominique Ouattara, visited, on Saturday in Abidjan, "la Case des Enfants", a reception center for street children, orphans and abuse victims.

Her Royal Highness, who was welcomed by the ministers of education and of communication, Kandia Camara and Affoussiata Bamba Lamine, was given details on services offered for the children and visited the center.

 In a speech, national director of the Children of Africa Foundation Nadine Sangaré gave a presentation on the activities of the facility which is home to 56 kids (26 girls and 30 boys) since it came under the Children of Africa Foundation in 1988 with the aim of ensuring a better reintegration of these children in active life through schooling and training.

 This is a transition home that can host up to 100 people and has a professional staff and voluntary workers who provide school, social and medical supervision.

Ivorian Pres. Receives In Abidjan HRH Princess Lalla Salma

  President of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire Alassane Ouattara received, on Saturday in Abidjan, HRH Princess Lalla Salma, Chairwoman of the Lalla Salma Foundation for Cancer Prevention and Treatment and guest of honor of President of the Children of Africa Foundation Dominique Ouattara.

The audience was attended by First Lady of Côte d'Ivoire Dominique Ouattara, minister of state, Interior and Security minister Hamed Bakayoko, minister of national education Kandia Kamissoko Camara and communication minister Affoussiata Bamba Lamine.

HRH Princess Lalla Salma Arrives In Abidjan To Take Part In Gala Dinner Of Children Of Africa Foundation

HRH Princess Lalla Salma, Chairwoman of the Lalla Salma Foundation for Cancer Prevention and Treatment, who is the guest of honor of President of the Children of Africa Foundation and First Lady of Côte d' Ivoire, Dominique Ouattara, arrived Friday afternoon in Abidjan to take part in the charity gala dinner to raise funds for the equipment of the Mother and Child Hospital in Bingerville (a suburb of Abidjan).

On her arrival at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport, HRH Princess Lalla Salma was welcomed by President of the Children of Africa Foundation Dominique Ouattara, several members of the Ivorian government, Morocco's ambassador in Abidjan, Mustapha Jebari, as well as other personalities.

This gala dinner is the second of its kind after the first organized in February 2012 by the Foundation for the collection of funds for the construction of the facility dedicated to the Mother and Child hospital in Bingerville (suburb of Abidjan).

The Mother and Child Hospital, the first of its kind in Cote d'Ivoire and West Africa, is intended to address maternal and infant mortality which is steadily increasing in the country.
