HM the King inaugurates in Meknes 8th Agriculture Fair

HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by President of Gabon, Ali Bongo Ondimba, inaugurated, Wednesday in Meknes, the 8th Morocco International Agriculture Fair (SIAM).

At the beginning of the ceremony, HM the King handed distinctive signs of origin and quality to six farmers.
 
    Afterwards, HM the King and Bongo Ondimba visited the various booths and spaces of the fair, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Maritime Fishing under the theme "Agricultural Trade", with the participation of 51 countries, including Belgium as guest of honor.
 
    More than 1,060 exhibitors participate in the fair, which runs through April 28. The sixteen regions of the Kingdom will showcase the diversity of their products, while international pavilions will actively contribute to setting up a framework for exchanges and solidarity-based partnerships.
 
   Built on an area of ​​10 hectares, the SIAM is an opportunity to establish partnerships between Moroccan and foreign professionals of the sector and highlight the potential of the Moroccan agriculture and its standing in the national economy.
 
    SIAM 2013 aims to attract 600,000 visitors and is primarily intended as a space for reflection on the potential of the Moroccan agriculture, a key sector of the national economy, as well as the challenges facing the sector in an-ever competitive world.
 
   The Fair will feature a series of scientific conferences and roundtables led by experts and national and international professionals, along with information and awareness-raising meetings programmed by the organizers for the farmers.
