HM The King Inaugurates Mohammed VI University Hospital In Oujda

HM King Mohammed VI inaugurated, on Wednesday in the eastern city of Oujda, the Mohammed VI University Hospital.

 

The 1.2 billion-dirham training and care facility reflects the HM the King's conviction that the right of access to health care services is one of the major pillars to consolidate citizenship and achieve a comprehensive, integrated and sustainable human development.

The Mohammed VI University Hospital also demonstrates the central role granted by the Sovereign to the training of human resources in this vital sector, and His determination to ensure a quality education adapted to scientific and technological developments in treatment, prevention, management and health governance.

Built on 10 acres (52,000 sq. meters covered), the new facility - with a capacity of 653 beds- boasts specialties hospital, a mother and child hospital, a burns center, a forensic service, a central laboratory, emergency services, educational blocks, a boarding, and other administrative and technical dependencies.

The Mohammed VI University Hospital also comprises the Hassan II oncology center and the mental and psychiatric health hospital.

Built by the Health ministry, the new care and training institution is equipped with state of art technology. It contributes in developing hospitals in the eastern region, strengthening basic health services and reinforcing their proximity to citizens who no longer need to travel to Fez or Rabat for complicated surgeries or pathologies.

On this occasion, HM the King posed for a souvenir photo with the medical, paramedical, technical and administrative staff of the Mohammed VI University Hospital.
