Royal Visit To Tangier: Social-Medical Offer Consolidated By New Projects

The royal approach of comprehensive and integrated human development was once illustrated with the launching on Friday in Tangiers by HM King Mohammed VI of several projects meant to consolidate the social-medical services offer in the city.

The Sovereign launched construction works of an education center for autistic children, a center for handicapped persons, three health centers, a medical-social compound and rehabilitation of the Mohammed V Hospital.

The projects, worth a total of 130 million DH, reflect HM the King's resolve to include health promotion in the major projects and strong belief that the right to health services, guaranteed by the Moroccan constitution, is a pillar of the consolidation of citizenship and achievement of comprehensive and integrated human development.

Part of the "Tangiers-metropolis", the projects also illustrate HM the King's constant care for handicapped and misfit children by enabling them all means for better integration in the education system, in society and in professional life.

The education center for autistic children, a socio-educational facility, part of the national human development initiative, aims to help the targeted categories, support them and their family to overcome the disability situation and guarantee to autistic children the needed medical assistance in order to facilitate their social integration.

The center will include classrooms, manual workshops, diagnosis and physiotherapy rooms, a multi-usage room and a stadium.

The center for physically and mentally handicapped people will give to this category an appropriate medical, socio-educational and sports space.

The health offer, which has become insufficient in view of the city's demographic growth, will be improved by the creation of three health centers, a medical-social compound and the rehabilitation of the Mohammed V hospital.

These projects confirm the comprehensive and innovative approach adopted by HM the King to enable citizens have access to high-quality efficient and fair health services.
