French Senate's Economic Affairs Committee chair Dominique Estrosi-Sassone praised here on Tuesday Morocco's “remarkable” momentum in the field of renewable energy, emphasizing the Kingdom as an inspiring model thanks to its initiatives and upcoming projects.
“Morocco is showing remarkable momentum in the renewable energy sector, a crucial field for France. We have a lot to learn from the initiatives implemented in Morocco, as well as from upcoming projects,” she said in a statement to the press after a meeting with Morocco's Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour.
In this regard, Estrosi-Sassone, who is on a working visit to Morocco at the head of a French Senate delegation, highlighted the remarkable developments achieved by the Kingdom in all strategic sectors, noting that it is at the forefront of several current issues, particularly that of energy transition.
She spoke of the Moroccan automotive industry's excellence, noting that the Kingdom has developed a genuine ecosystem around automotive production, complete with a value chain covering combustion engine, electric, and hybrid vehicles.
This assessment is particularly important amid the European automotive industry's current difficult climate. “The automotive industry in France, as in Europe, is experiencing a major crisis,” Estrosi-Sassone said, referring to the launch of a mission dedicated to the future of this industry.
The official further stressed the importance of enshrining the Morocco-France partnership and maintaining mutually beneficial bilateral relations.
