
The players of Morocco’s U-20 national football team, world champions, expressed their deep gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the High Solicitude that the Sovereign has consistently shown toward Moroccan youth.
In statements to the press following the ceremony hosted on Wednesday by HM the King and presided over, upon the Sovereign’s High Instructions, by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, in honor of the members of the national team, the players said they were deeply honored by the warm welcome they received following their historic triumph in Chile.
Team captain Houssam Essadak voiced his immense joy and pride after the unprecedented achievement of the Lionceaux, stressing that it was the fruit of long and dedicated work by all components of the national squad.
He added that this victory also serves as a powerful motivation to win more titles, further consolidating Morocco’s position among the great footballing nations.
For his part, Othmane Maamma expressed pride in the efforts made by the entire team to win this world title, noting that all players were determined to represent the Kingdom with dignity throughout the competition.
"I am proud of the team’s historic achievement. We worked hard to bring the trophy home," said the Best Young Player of the U-20 World Cup, warmly thanking the Moroccan people for their unwavering support during the tournament. He emphasized that this collective spirit made their success possible.
Meanwhile, Yassine Gessime expressed his joy at the reception given to the team, calling the victory an exceptional feat. "Our goal is not to stop here. We are determined to keep working hard to win many more trophies," he affirmed.
