Reforma de la educación: La Alta Visión Real, marco de referencia para una escuela pública que garantice la igualdad de oportunidades (Akhannouch)

The High Royal Vision of HM King Mohammed VI regarding education reform represents a strategic choice and a guiding framework for establishing a public school committed to developing human capital and ensuring equity and equality of opportunities, Head of Government Aziz, Akhannouch said on Monday.

Speaking at the House of Representatives’ question time, Akhannouch emphasized that throughout His 25-year reign, His Majesty the King has made the Moroccan school a national priority. In His fist Throne Speech in 1999, the Sovereign ranked education and training as second national priority, following territorial integrity.

In this regard, Akhannouch referred to the 2015 Throne Day speech, in which the King stated: "the education reform must be aimed primarily at enabling students to acquire knowledge, skills and national and foreign languages, particularly in scientific and technical curricula, in order to be active members of society."

He added that in line with the special attention His Majesty the King continues to dedicate to education and training, the government's choices have been clearly defined, as reflected in the government program, which represents a political contract with the citizens.

In this context, the Head of Government proudly highlighted the positive indicators in the national education, preschool, and sports sectors, citing several contributing factors, notably “the clarity and credibility of the government’s offer,” “the success of sectoral social dialogue within the Ministry of National Education,” and “the mobilization of the financial resources needed for reform.” He noted that the Government is working to mobilize an additional 9.5 billion dirhams annually by 2027, which is a commitment that has had a positive impact on the daily lives of Morocco’s education community.

Since taking office, the government has made education reform “a sovereign political choice that transcends the logic of sectoral management, with a focus on building a public school that guarantees skills development, upward social mobility, and social inclusion in the Morocco of the future to which all aspire, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI,” the Head of Government stressed.

He also affirmed the government’s full awareness that overhauling the education system requires mobilizing sufficient financial resources, noting that the 2025 Finance Law allocated a total budget of more than 85 billion dirhams, up from 68 billion dirhams in 2019.

The common priority of the government and parliament, he concluded, is to restore Moroccan families’ confidence in the public school.
