The voter turnout in the general legislative elections to elect members of the House of Representatives reached 38.02% nationwide, the Ministry of Interior announced.
The ministry stresses in a statement that pursuant to the legal provisions establishing the polling closing hour, voting for the election of members of the House of Representatives across all polling stations set up nationwide concluded at 7:00 PM.
According to information collected from the provinces, prefectures, and district prefectures of the Kingdom, voter turnout at the national level reached 38.02%.
Regarding the conduct of the voting process, apart from a few very isolated cases involving a limited number of polling stations, voting took place under normal conditions across all regions of the Kingdom.
Immediately following the close of polling, the polling stations proceeded with the counting and tallying of votes in a positive climate and in the presence of representatives of the candidate lists. This process initially covers elections at the level of local electoral districts and subsequently at the level of regional electoral districts.
Right after completing their duties, the polling stations will forward the official records of the electoral operations they prepared to the central offices, enabling them to count the votes obtained by the candidate lists within their respective electoral districts.
Regarding the election results and the announcement of the names of elected candidates, counting committees chaired by magistrates will count the votes, proclaim the results, and announce the names of the elected candidates based on the official records of the central offices established for local electoral districts, as well as those of the provincial counting committees for regional electoral districts.
