89 K Jobs Created By Moroccan Economy Between 1rst Quarter Of 2013 And 2014, HCP
Some 89,000 jobs, including 46,000 in urban area and 43,000 in rural area, were created by the Moroccan economy between the first quarter of 2013 and that of 2014, according to the High Planning Commission (HCP).
The global volume of employment jumped from 10,397,000 to 10,486,000 between the first quarter of 2013 and that of 2014, that means the creation of 89,000 jobs, said HCP in a memo on the job market status in 2014 first quarter.
With the growth of the volume of non active population, the employment rate dropped by 0.3% nationally, reaching 42.9%, in addition to a stagnation in the rural area, it added.

Morocco's unemployment rate went up from 9.4pc to 10.2pc between the 1st quarter of 2013 and the corresponding period of 2013, says the High Commissioner for Planning (HCP).
Unemployed active population rose from 1,077,000 in the 1st quarter of 2013 to 1,191,000 in the same period of 2014 (more 74,000 unemployed persons in urban areas and 40,000 in rural areas), according to the source.
Unemployment is higher among the 15-24 age-bracket (20.2pc).
