Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca has surpassed the historic milestone of 11 million passengers, confirming its 31% share of national air traffic, driven by the exceptional momentum generated by the Africa Cup of Nations 2025.
This week, the airport crossed the symbolic threshold of 11 million passengers for the first time, marking a major milestone in its development, the National Airports Office (ONDA) said in a statement.
Confirming its central role in national and continental air transport dynamics, Mohammed V Airport is thus on a sustained growth trajectory toward 2030, ONDA noted.
Over the year as a whole, passenger traffic rose from 10.5 million in 2024 to 11.5 million by the end of 2025, representing an increase of 9.3%, supported by the influx of supporters, official delegations, and international visitors on the occasion of AFCON 2025, as well as by the strengthening of air links.
This performance confirms Casablanca’s strategic position, with its traffic now accounting for 31% of total airport traffic in the Kingdom, making the airport Morocco’s main gateway.
The outlook fully aligns with the “Airports 2030” strategy, which aims to support traffic growth through capacity expansion, improved passenger experience, and infrastructure modernization.
In this context, Casablanca Airport is projected to reach 12.5 million passengers as early as 2026 and more than 20 million by 2030.
AFCON 2025 thus stands out as a powerful accelerator, highlighting Casablanca Airport’s ability to support events of global scale and to firmly place Moroccan air transport on a new phase of sustainable growth.
