Marruecos, un actor destacado de la industria automovilística mundial

Morocco has reached a decisive milestone in its ambition to become a leading player in the global automotive industry, wrote the Spanish economic daily El Economista on Tuesday.

Morocco has doubled its production capacity in a decade, reaching one million vehicles in 2025, a level that places it among the world’s top fifteen manufacturers and makes it the undisputed leader on the African continent, the newspaper highlighted.

The paper stressed that this achievement is the result of a strategy combining large-scale investments, the upgrading of modern infrastructure, particularly the Tangier Med port, and structuring projects such as the new Nador West Med port complex.

The establishment of major manufacturers such as Renault and Stellantis has firmly anchored Morocco in the international automotive value chain, with production levels comparable to several European countries with longstanding industrial traditions, the Spanish daily noted.

Geographic proximity to Europe, a skilled and competitive workforce, and an attractive fiscal framework make Morocco an appealing platform for investors, the paper continued, adding that this momentum is being closely monitored in Spain, which sees it both as a competitiveness challenge and an opportunity for industrial cooperation.

This trajectory reflects the Kingdom’s determination, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, to make the automotive industry a driver of economic development and a lever for integration into global trade, according to the same source.
