Morocco, EU Sign € 50 Million Financing Agreement For Government Medical Coverage Reform Policy

Morocco and the European Union signed Thursday in Rabat a financing agreement of € 50 million relating to Morocco’s Medical coverage reform support programme - Phase III (PARCOUM III).
Signed by Economy and Finance minister Mohamed Boussaid, Health minister El Houssaine Louardi and the head of the EU delegation in Morocco, ambassador Rupert Joy, this grant aims to support the implementation of the Moroccan government policy aimed at ensuring access to health care services for the entire population under the principles of solidarity and equity.
PARCOUM III aims to strengthen governance in the field of health, provide a strategic framework for reform management and expand health care services.
Following the signing ceremony, Joy said that the EU supports Morocco in all its reform policies in the field of healthcare.
Reforms in this area are "technically complex, politically sensitive and socially very important", he noted.
Moroccan Health minister Louardi said this agreement comes to confirm the success of PARCOUM I and II which met all objectives.
For Boussaid the € 50 million financing agreement reflects the quality and the strength of cooperation relation between Morocco and the European Union.
